Marketing Your Website Through Newsgroups
by
Hollis Thomases

Two advanced warnings accompany this marketing tip:

1) The resources we will be providing you can lead to all sorts of content, including "adults-only."

2) This tip is not meant to be an instructional how-to for going out and spamming newsgroups with your marketing messages. Please respect the rules of proper Internet etiquette (as well as those of each individual resource).

Onto the good stuff. Let's start by trying to explain what newsgroups are. They can be perceived of like email discussion lists, but they work a little differently. Like email discussion lists, participants have a common interest or focus; unlike email discussion lists, email is not usually the vehicle for delivery of message threads (also known as "articles").

Newsgroups are organized in a hierarchical fashion, usually with nothing more than a few letters to indicate the classification (alt., news., rec., comp., etc.). Within each classification reside multiple but yet related newsgroups (biz.entrepreneurs, biz.marketplace, biz.jobs, etc.).

Firetalk brings true voice quality to the Internet
by Susan Smith, pizazzdesign.com website designer/owner

Unleash the power of your PC as a platform for business and personal communications! Firetalk, a leading PC-to-PC communications technology lets you speak long-distance for free, nationwide or international. Firetalk Basic is a free subscription service that provides standard voice quality for PC-to-PC two-party calls, conference calls and forums. However, Firetalk Basic, as a free service, contains banner advertising. Their paid subscription service, Firetalk VQ, does not have banner ads and promises higher voice quality, but quite frankly we found the Basic service impressibly clear. This application is perfect for virtual companies who want to communicate with staffs located remotely, train groups of people in different locations, and more.

Plus, Firetalk lets your Internet business speak volumes. Small-scale sites can use free Firetalk voice technology to create a destination where your visitors will meet and converse. Adding Firetalk voice capabilities is certain to broaden the appeal of any site and make you stand apart from your competition.

BIG THUMBS-UP FOR THIS TECHNOLOGY!

Good luck and watch for our next installment!
